Anyone have some suggestions for driving about our nation's capital?
Any areas to avoid for red-light cameras or any other warnings.
Maybe even lunch on saturday with a few SLK enthusiasts.
Cheers! |

Just driving around the Mall is great. The drive out to Annapolis is very pretty, as is the destination. Lots of nice places to go on side trips.
One thing to be aware of in DC is the very strict DUI policy. DC is literally "zero tollerance", which means DUI is not a BAC of 0.10 or 0.08, but anything > 0, i.e. one beer, two hours ago, constitutes a DUI. The DC police are very agressive about enforcement. |

Beware, DC uses cameras for red light running and speeding. They also have un-marked cars sitting on the side of the road using cameras for speed enforcement.
That said, it is a beautiful city. Rock Creek park has many roads that are great for using a SLK top down. |

Thanks for the tips on the cameras and the cars.
I'll be hanging out with my cousin most of the time but I'll try to get some pics of the Mall - If I don't get tagged as a terrorist. |

Interestingly enough, I got about 24 mpg driving down over 220 miles in the rain and high humidity and 2 significant traffic jams.
Very impressive for a car like this |
