For sale is my white 1985 280 GE with ~155k miles. CA registered since new, I am the second owner, purchased out of LA in April of 2006. The truck has been a great vehicle and I am sad to see it go, but having two G - Wagens no longer makes much sense. The car has been well maintained over the years including service by parties such as Darren at Collie Autoworks in Marin and Mike Serpe/Chris Benjamin at . The most recent major service involved installation of a new/used front driveshaft.
The good: Runs strong, passes CA smog, ~98% rust free, well maintained, clean undercarriage, new windshield, new front driveshaft, tires at 65%, wired for winch, Odyssey battery, trailer wiring and plugs included, lockers and 4wd regularly exercised and work great.
The bad: A/C intact with new condenser installed but York seals are gone, have parts to swap to Sanden Compressor from York. All that is required is purchase of new Sanden Compressor (haven't done this since new owner may want to swap to 617A). Very small amount of rust under passenger mat. This issue was discovered early and largely taken care. Small amount shown in pictures below. Radiator was re-cored about 5 years ago, if I was going to keep the truck, I'd probably have it done again. Small dent on left rear corner from anonymous family member backing up trailer. General wear and tear for a 28 y/o truck.
