RE: A question for u guys........

I spend most of the time here with a brief glance everyday over the BW posts. I think this is pretty typical because of the vast archives available through BW. As for a reason why, well, I shifted sites because other, trusted, members suggested it.

Idem as Eric - I keep also an eye on some German forums (less on the less frequented GWOA) and a local Belgium 4X4 forum - but as far as technical knowledge and speed I think you're best served here.

RE: A question for u guys........

I was just glad to not be left behind . . . not that anyone was trying to...

I only recently started speaking up - so how many people could I have really annoyed yet? (That's a rhetorical question.)

I'm guessing the count is so high here because there's so many G-Wagen owners here! They probably make up half of the members.

Re: A question for u guys........

I came for the water...I was misinformed (shameless movie quote rip-off). In reality, all of the guys who helped me out when there was so much I needed to know about older G-Wagens are here, and these gentlemen helped me find my vehicle and constantly give me advice on how to keep it running, its become like a family. I had to come.

RE: A question for u guys........

Yep, emoticons magnetically attracted me here ...and the fact there are no Land-Rover vs. G-wagen threads

Re: A question for u guys........

imho, if they are going to treat one of the old-timers (and long-serving moderator) in such a fashion, then it is only a matter of time before someone else gets "the treatment", so rather pre-empt it that and move on, change is good for the heart!

Why FLY with the "Chickens" when you can soar with the "Eagles"?

RE: A question for u guys........

I think your question really focuses us on the G. Because the G is the clear bastard child of MB (not just MBUSA) and as such receives such little support from the dealer network, we have formed a community of bastard children. When one of the children (our moderator, for instance,) is treated unfairly or is not appreciated for his contributions above and beyond what any of us can do (he is a standout), we, the bastard children of MB, remain loyal to that standout. Hence, our community (being virtual) will remain a solid cadre of dedicated G enthusiasts with a clear "leader". I have said this before and I will say it again - I am here 'cause Dutch is here and he is an intrinsic and necessary part of our G family.
