My family and I have been living in Europe for the past 5 months we have been in 9 countries and always on the lookout for g-wagens.
We bought this one in France while stating in the Loire valley. I have driven it 2000 kilometers and it is really nice to drive. The factory 5 speed GERTRAG transmisison makes 120kms an hour (75MPH) comfortable with low revs. It has factory Recaro seats and both factory jump seats in the cargo area. It has central locking that is not operational at present. The doors have been taken apart and cleaned, wire brushed and POR15 has been painted in.
I keep notes of all that i find that needs to be fixed or at least noted.
Here they are:
-drivers door hinges need to be replaced
-idle adjust knob is broken off
-central locking needs to be fixed
-spare tire needs to be replaced
-missing factory jack and tools
-right rear male side seatbelt needs to be replaced
-shocks are at the end of their life
-exhaust is aftermarket
-missing right side "300GD" emblem
-rain gutter corners missing
-needs new brake pads according to French "Cart Gris" (like our safety check)
included in the sale will be new rotors, and brake pads. Also a new rear wheel cylinder since one of the rears is leaking
-it only has one head rest in the back seat
-needs valve adjustment
These are some of the items I have taken care of
👊Replace 3 bulbs in instrument cluster
👊Replace back up light bulb
👊Take apart and clean out all doors and remove all loose rust and find the end of the rust in each
👊scrape rust and coat inside and bottom of all doors with POR15
👊changed oil and filter 19,347km
👊climate control (4 bulbs) and clock lightbulb
👊replaced passenger window crank
👊-fix drivers window so it operates smoothly and closes securely
👊replaced broken clips on all door panels
👊new well nuts and screws on both front doors for door pockets
I took these photos just before it was loaded on the RORO to California.
It is supposed to arrive on or around the 8th of October
