And Porsche is top rated now. Guess we now have to trade our MLs for Caymans...

Bloomberg July 7 - Porsche the automaker with the highest profit margins in the world, went from 32nd place to first in a leading auto-quality survey.

Porsche's turnabout came on the debut of the Cayman, which is based on the Boxster roadster, J.D. Power said. Porsche, of Stuttgart, Germany, has boosted earnings 11 years in a row as the company introduced new models such as the Cayenne sport-utility vehicle and the Cayman.

Maybe the defects are too low in new ML, that they are not even reporting it.

That is true Wolfgang.....Porsche beat out Lexus......for over-all name plate.......l think Lexus had held this title for 8 or 9 years straight......lt's nice to see the other auto makers catching up, and making quality and reliabilty a top priority..........l had the chance to drive a new M-Class while mine was in for servicing....WOW....leaps and bounds better than the W163......That's more like it Mercedes.............Maybe the (Alabama) American auto worker is finally catching on to what they are actually building......Though in the rankings the Alabama plant was no where to be found.....Our plant was 5th in North and South America..........

C-Rod: Congratulations on the good results for the RX-330. You guys are making us proud.
I am also amazed how fast Porsche recovered after the disastrous quality issues in the Cayenne. In fact the main reason why I snubbed the Cayenne in favor of the ML-500 was its bad reputation for quality. Kudos also to Volvo which is well positioned between the Lexu’s.

C-Rod, you must get some nasty looks from the folks at the plant for having an Mercedes.

Regarding the list, well, two of my favorite Lexus' made the list. Oh and maybe you can enlighten us all. What is the plural word for Lexus?
