air intake cover-help

my windshield was replaced . there is a slight gap where the upper edge of the air intake cover goes over the glass. mt recollection was that the air intake cover pressed flat against the windshield glass. is it my imagination? could anyone look at your ml320 and see if the air intake cover presses against the glass? thank you.

Looks like I need to wash my car after that dust/rain storm last night.

Even though my windscreen has not been replaced there was a slight gap as you describe, so I stuck a small, square rubber foot on the underside of the bonnet (hood) so that it gently presses down on the plastic air intake grill and makes it touch the windscreen.

If all has gone well I have uploaded a picture in which you can see the rubber foot near the edge of the bonnet.

Is there a gasket under the hard plastic cover. I think mine may be missing.

There is piping along the window edge of the intake cover.
