RE: Florida members-oil question

Good luck finding it cheap. I get the Mobil 1 SuperSyn 0w- 40 at my local Autozone for $5.79 per quart. As far as I've been able to find, they're the only place in my town that has it in stock.

I get it at Advance/Discount Auto Parts and Auto Zone... they usually have just about the same price.

Wal Mart carries it at a lot of their stores and the last time I bought 24 quarts it was $4.89. I don't know what it is priced at right now.

Time for an oil change on my truck... I'll stop by a few places and see where the best price is at.

Re: Florida members-oil question

Al,  How about a valve to compliment the topsider!..... Since you like to crawl under the car anyways!  This will ensure a real quick oil change from the bottom.....

For a clean change you can slide a hose over the nipple!.

Re: Florida members-oil question

Sorry, for me, once I went with the MityVac, and having the filter right there on top of the engine, I just can’t convince myself that there is any reason to crawl on the floor for an oil change!

RE: Florida members-oil question

I recommend getting the 7201 or 7300 model. These have 8.8 liter capacity. You can drain the entire anount of the oil at one time and it's easy to determine how much oil was evacuated. One thing you have to keep in mind is that the volume of oil will decrease slightly after it cools. So you might see 8.3 liters when you first fill the mity vac and find that it reads 8.0 liters the next morning after the oil cools. I used a marking pen to color the raised level indicator marks.
