overfilled driveshaft

I had the G to the dealer. Looks like they might have overfilled the driveshaft slip joint.

Looking at the pics, does it look like need to take some grease out? I never noticed the smooth path which I assume is caused by overfilling the shaft.

RE: overfilled driveshaft

It looks pretty much like mine does; and I don't overfill mine.

RE: overfilled driveshaft

Good --- Thanks Dutch.

I told the dealer not to lube, cause I do it. Dealers just can't follow instructions.

Just one of the many reasons to stay clear of dealers.

RE: overfilled driveshaft

AGREED.

But i had some expensive stuff needing replace under warranty.

I am not sure the free repair was worth the damage they do.

Re: overfilled driveshaft

It looks pretty good from the pictures.

For the majority of people out there. It's safer for them to grease than not grease...

Re: overfilled driveshaft

If the slip joint is overfilled on my short shaft the excess will evacuate out the end. Your shaft looks normal to me.
