machine gun lock issue

OK Here goes I have 2001 ML-320 and two doors (driver side rear and front) are not locking when it does the machine guning!

Does that mean they are both bad? :

RE: machine gun lock issue

That would be my guess.. Usually the lock that does not "machine gun" is the one that is bad causing the problem. In my case (2001 ML320) it was the left rear that was at fault causing my locking issue...

RE: machine gun lock issue

Can it also be the back gate?

Did you do it your self, and where did you get the parts and how much?

thanks

Re: machine gun lock issue

Usually, the broken lock will not lock the door even when you do it manually. That's how you know it's broken and yes it can be the liftgate also.

search for "pleubner" writeup with photos on changing the locks when you figure out which lock is the problem.

Also, I doubt it's two locks going bad at the same time. Do a little more investigating first.

Re: machine gun lock issue

one of the first checks should be to lift the hood and check the relays, fuses related to the locks

...mmmm maybe we should host all the WIS/EPC/DIY stuff on the WOLF site?.
