Crap, need some advice! Rebuilding swivel balls.

So I read and read and read and missed that the axle shaft oil seal should be flush with the flange! I drove it past. What do you think about my situation?

#1 - Please go into your My Profile and complete the sections telling us the year and model of your G, as well as where you're located. That info helps us to get to know and to help you better.

#2 - As to your seal problem, I, personally, would get a puller and remove it. Then get a new seal and install it properly.

Re: Crap, need some advice! Rebuilding swivel balls.

You do not need to totally dissemble the hub to replace the seal.

Remove the brake caliper

Remove the Ball wipe seal bolts.

Then the king pin bolts (drag link also).

ABS sensor if in the way.

Then pull the entire hub and axle out as one assembly.

I may be forgetting a couple things, but the point is you will not need to dissemble the hub assembly.
