Drivers seat switch acting funny - when pressings the recline button to recline backwards it recline forwards. The headrest doesnt go anywhere. Where is a good point to start looking? Switch itself? Seat module? Passenger seat works as it should. Can I swap the seat modules? Are they the same?

Although mine is 04 G500, I had similar issue with seat control. It was intermittent so I didn't do anything until I had battery drain issue. The culprit was a seat control module, all are good now. They have different part numbers for left and right modules.

Did you install the replacement module yourself? Is it an easy process? I have the same issue and I have a battery drain. Going to test the drain soon to see if that is the case.

It was the seat switch assembly. Re-soldered all micro switches to the motherboard. Now everything is working as it should, including the memory function.

Yes, I've replaced the module myself and it took about 15 minutes. You don't even need any tools, you just need to raise the seat and the module is held by clips. If you're having the battery drain issue and everything else checks fine, you should unplug the connector from module and check if that's the culprit.
