My Loaner

Wow, what can I say, I got a 2006 E350 as a loaner vehicle as my car is in for Service A.

I had to haggle a bit as they were trying to give a Enterprise loaner vehicle but I insisted on MB, and voila I got E350. I use to always get C-Class as a loaner from my regular dealer.

2006 E350 is a great vehicle, great ride, very soft sterring, and could really feel the difference in ride from my W164.

I did not like the Nav, its little bit complicated and not that intiutive compared to one in W164.

I will post some pics late tonite, once I go home and get chance to take some pics.

But to be really honest, I would still prefer W164 over E Class, maybe it is just because I am just very much accustomed to W164.

Sounds nice. How hard did you have to insist to get the E?

RE: My Loaner

Do all dealers give loaners or just the one you purchased from? I know when I called other delaers about service, the loaner wasn't included since I bought from another dealer.

Re: My Loaner

^^^ Mike, I went to this dealer for the first time, SA started out saying that they do not give MB loaners if the car was not bought from them.

I insisted on getting MB loaner, maybe as this was a paid service (Service A) he must have changed his mind and gave me 2006 E350, not bad.

Other dealer that I generally go (did not buy car from this dealer either) gives out MB all the time, and all I get is C-Class from them.

Dealer from where I bought my car is around 40miles from my home, and I avoid going to him for any services/warranty issues. I generally get C-Class from them too.

So from my experience Dealers in this area generally gives out MB.

Re: My Loaner

Lucky! I'll say it again, ALL WE GET IS RIDE IN A PASSAT!

Also, must be because we didn't buy it from them. I think it's stupid though. What are you supposed to do if it's an overnight thing. Sleep in the lounge?

I also inquired about getting a R-Class or GL-Class as a loaner under the pretext that I am of thinking of upgrading it to either one.. but it did not fly.. LOL.. Maybe next time.

AML-- Passat is not bad either, but nothing beats E-Class, I feel lucky too.

But here's the things. We don't get the Passat to ourselves. They drive us wherever we want to go (given it's a short distance), drop us of. When the ML is ready, they call us, and they come pick us up in the Passat.

BTW, you could've took the GL or R for an overnight test drive if they allow that. Rather than get a loaner.

Re: My Loaner

Wow they actually give an E?

Wow. Over here there's no loaner unless you forced them to give you one. You get an ulgy green A class.
My S was in the shop for a month. One cylinder fails which leds to major repairs.
The car is not ulgy but that green is so bright and will attract attnetion and the other driver in their corollas and Hyundai will start to laugh at you.

Damn i still remember that day...

RE: My Loaner

Our dealer not only gives a loaner, but will come to your house or office with the loaner and pick up your car. You can live anywhere in New England. Used to use Corollas, then it was Camry's. Depends on your car, for the more expensive ones they give out C's and E's.

Re: My Loaner

You know what's unique about the A class here? Only 3 units are here. All loaners car.

New A160= $ 75 000

New fully loaded Lexus GS 300= $89 000

I rather go for the Lexus.

Re: My Loaner

I saw a new B class and the new A class in the MB showroom yesterday. I didn't go in and see it.

Just pass by the showroom

The B class and A class is more to a mini van type of car. Why Mercedes built them?To attract all types of people?
IMO they spoil the image of owning a Mercedes Benz. MB used to have only 4 exculsive models in the 90s-S class, SL class,E class and C class and ML.

The priced of a new C180 is= $89 000

With that price ,I still rather take the fully loaded GS 300
