Whilst looking to change the fuel filter, I stumbled on another pump tucked right above the back passenger wheel. I think it's been making a lot of noise and that was what prompted me to change the main one under the fuel tank thinking it was the culprit. A misdiagnosis but they both need changing anyway. Can someone please explain the purpose of this "secondary" pump? The fuel filter needs changing and this reminds me of the fact that not too long ago I bought one as part of the service which the mechanic assured me had been replaced and charged for workmanship. You'll be glad to know this particular one is out of business, the world won't be needing his service anytime soon. This certainly looks like the original filter  If you need something done?? I'm also assuming the pump is the same as the primary. There is only one main fuel pump. There is an auxiliary pump if you have a Webasto or similar heating system in your G.
