WHERE IS IANX?

He is not logged in to any of the MB forums, including forums other than this one, since mid to late May. Anyone know why?

RE: WHERE IS IANX?

I've sent PM's to IANX and administrators here and at BW with
no responses from anyone. Some possibilities that come to mind:

Vacation: Probably not; it's been too long, he didn't let us know,
and he has logged on without posting since May.

Illness: I hope not. Again, he did log onto the site several weeks
into his MIA status.

Frustration: Maybe. Remember, at BW, he threatened to quit after
receiving some criticism over the way he handled
the multi-alias intruder. Also, he was criticized by some
over his selective invites to PT.

Legal: Is it possible that he is under a court injunction for a non-compete
clause? Is there a behind the scenes battle between forums?

Why do you miss him ? The forum has not descended into a state of Anarchy, quite the opposite actually, his censorship and self righteous opinions bored me.

Well, it is probably comments like these that caused him to leave. For those of us who were at BW early on he provided great support and advice and was a great moderator. He also kept us up-to-date on all the data sheets and fixes. I do miss him and hope he comes back.

The very fact that we are able to express these views ands make these comments is because he is not here to remove them. Whilst his input may have been valuable to some, his censorship affected everyone as it left only what HE felt was appropriate. Get over it......

I appreciate him not only because of his valuable advice and dedication, but also precisely because he was quick to slap down abrasive blowhards. I hope he comes back soon, and wish he were still a mod here.

RE: WHERE IS IANX?

I've been wondering that myself - it seems a bit strange that he would be offline for soo long without any prior warning. Plus it also begs the question as to who is now moderating us as I can imagine they'll have to be someone keeping an eye on things.

I think that being a moderator is not one of the easiest jobs out there, especially when you're not getting paid for it. I think IanX has been doing a grand job for us both here and on BW, and I thank him for all his hard work. Especially with Part Numbers and the Alltec Data Sheets.

My only other thought was if it is not holiday or illness, that there may have been a death in the family - which I sincerely hope is not the case.

Hopefully we'll see him back here soon, but many of the regulars seem to have disappeared from here and BW (or I amend that to not posting as much as they used to) - where's Woolly?!?!?!

I didn't realize it was a competition gary. I thought we were just expressing our views. I appreciate that a lot of those still posting here and on BW (and that's not many) liked Ianx. I personally did not. I really didn't think of it as winning and losing at all. If you want to debate the issue, I suppose we could. But wouldn't that be a waste of time? I highly doubt that you are going to change your opinion based on my argument. I certainly don't plan on changing my position just because the "group" thinks differently from me. Did you expect me too? Sorry to dissapoint.

In the end, I have already wasted too much time and energy on such an insignificant topic. Ianx could be the first Brit on Mars and I wouldn't be interested in where he is at. That's the last I have to say on the topic.

Take care.
