fog light part number issue...

I'm having trouble locating a part number for the backing to the front fog lights. I've got replacement fog lights (since one was borken) but the problem is the casing that the foglights seal against (it's a plastic part) is also borken and it doesn't seem to show up in the EPC's of the people who have looked for me to date. Anybody have any exprience with this or have any leads it would be great!

Is there any chance that the yellow fog lights don't come with all the same parts that the clear ones come with?

Thanks ahead of time.

Which do you have? Clear or yellow?

Clear is factory original. Which piece in the pic do you need?

RE: fog light part number issue...

I've got the yellow ones to install. It's part number 190 that i have, but what i need is either the backing for 190 that the yellow doesn't come with (which is the less logical conclusion), or it's just not in the diagram (which seems more likely based on the picture). #190 is screwed into a frame (that i need) to seals the back of the unit. If you crouch next to the wheel well and look at the backside of the foglight, that's the part i need...

I don't recognize 200 or 210, though 210 would be remeniscent of the Seal that is part of the piece i need.

thanks for looking into it.

I should have posted this with the original illustration. Yellow lamps are not to be found (at least by me) on the EPC. Perhaps one of our more expert parts suppliers can help.

RE: fog light part number issue...

I think that what you have is an aftermarket or perhaps MB-for-France replacement lens. You probably need a complete factory 190 part to attach it to. Part 220 is the outside plastic cover and 210 is the replacement rubber seal that seals the two large halves of 190. No idea what 200 is. There is also a snorkle that isn't on the diagram. It is made of light blue plastic and goes up to the back corner of each fender.

RE: fog light part number issue...

Oh, yeah, i had a brain fart... the mystery part # had already been given to me... A 000 826 0901 but the issue is that it's no longer a valid number and mercedes doesn't appear to be offering it any more. Maybe it's related to these lights being previously made for the french market when the parts were still available separately. Silly mercedes grouping parts together as bundles and causing me trouble.

Sean's looking into getting the part direct from Hella. For the curious at heart (or for anyone else that may want yellow fogs) this is the part (circled in red) that's causing the trouble. Hopefully i wont have to buy an additional #190 to make this work, becuase the dealer quote for the complete part is more than double the cost of the yellow assemblies... which you'd think would be the most expensive, but i guess not.

RE: fog light part number issue...

this might be the right thread, but I was just wondering on how to replace the fog light bulb, as it is not stated in the manual. All other bulb replacements are described in the manual. TIA

What year and model of G? (It does make a difference in the answer to your question.) Please complete your profile to show your vehicle and location. Thanks.
