I mean you push the down or the bottom of the button to make the window go up, and you push the upper end of the button to make the window go down? I think this only applies to the earlier 463 with the window switches in the center console, prior to the 2003 interior redesign. I reversed mine yesterday, and oh what a relief it is

They've never seemed counterintuitive to me; but I could just be backwards in things anyway. Forwards = Up and Backwards = Down. My next big task is to proactively replace (and modify?) that steering lock which is just laying in wait to strand me. Definitely will be done before the Treffen this Fall.

Replace it or remove it and jam the mechanism with epoxy or a set screw to keep the lock from engaing. You lose the anti-theft protection of the locked column; but you don't have to worry about getting stranded when it won't unlock. It's happened to at least three other folks on the forum; and getting it out when it jams is major surgery. Russ Leabch (old Europa Int'l) used to recommend drilling and tapping it with a set screw before it locks up; as he felt it was just one of those gremlins that was going to happen sooner or later because of the design of the system. Basically, the detents in the steering column get crudded up; and when the column lock locks, the crud prevents it from unlocking.
On our trucks, the steering lock itself is a Euro part; but, if you want a new key coded locking cylinder (separate part), you'll have to go through a dealer with all the proofs of ownership securities, etc to get that part. Let me know if you need part numbers.

It is just one less thing I would have to worry about later.

That's tempting, i've never seen that... switches in the dash, and i've already got a jig for cutting slots in the trim, had to make it for installation of my ABS kill switch.
