G roots ?..semi-offtopic video

I have an appreciation for all Mercedes vehicles. This video shows the Unimog and describes 4x4 sytems in detail ... appears to be on the Mercedes test track ??

That was a cool video. The next time I start a business that requires transports, I'll consider these beasts.

Excellent video.  One day, when I am tired of sleeping on the ground, a Unimog camper would be nice.

never seen the 6x6 life here. And we have many Unimogs...

And now the Quiz: What does Unimog stand for?

UNIversal-MOtor-Gerät

Roughly translated (I think) as universal motor equipment, aka tractor.

I might be cheating though since I had one for years and years....

The owner for the last four years or so is selling it too, but I think I want to save up for a U1300-U1700 doka rather than get my old 404 back.

Funny aside about the car show, the mercedes' were across from the landys and range rovers and I was quite bemused by the fact that even the new range rovers all had fancy custom drip pans under them and the 30 some year old unimog needed nothing of the kind.

Chris.
