It's my understanding that it's either gas cap, purge valve... or something else which i can't remember, but at that frequency of occurance it's more likely that what ever it is is just at the outer edge of some manufacturing process and is not in fact in need of replacement... just is varied enough to send a errant signal from time to time. A long while back i replaced the o2 sensor for P0150 because it started popping up more frequently. When i would get an o2 sensor CEL i'd usually have P0442 with it. What i need to do is verify my Harmonic Balancer Part number, but on a mechanics recommendation (for all mercedes vehicles) i at least give a look at it from time to time to make sure it's visibly ok. | ||

I replaced mine a while back. There were very small cracks starting in the rubber which were not at all visible when it was mounted on the engine. In a recent hard disk cleanup, I deleted the photos I had which showed the problem. The part can be had from Europarts in San Diego pretty cheap. | ||
