It could either be the entry plate itself or - more likely - the DC/AC convertor/inverter which feeds power to it. The light itself uses AC power. You can determine if it's the entry plate or not by removing the lighted working one from the side and swapping it for the non-working one. If the working one does not work when swapped, it is a problem with the DC/AC inverter. If it does work when swapped, it is a problem with the entry plate. When you lift out the entry plate, there is a small two pointed plug directly under the plate. Make sure it's clean and making a good connection. If the DC/AC inverter needs to be replaced, it is located behind the kick panel just in front of the door. It is a small postage stamp sized cube that is moulded in line. There is a plug in the wire on the upstream side to disconnect it. The DC/AC inverter, the cable and the plugs on each end are a single part. On my 1999/2000 G500 the P/N is: A.463.540.17.13. I'll bet it's the same for all lighted door sills in the various G models. (I had to replace on on mine.) MfG!

Skyline Date registered: Dec 1899 Location: Vehicle(s): | RE: Entry Plate does not Illuminate Thank you. You are right with your explanations, I had no time to check it. Both Sides do not work. Some say, there is proboably a short cut based on water, but I don't believe that. I think, it is the Inverter. Cheap crap.

I think, it is the Inverter. Cheap crap. :ahhh: Cheap crap, but not at a cheap price. There is an inverter on each side. It would be strange to have both go at the same time. Any chance it could be a fuse?

The only difficulty is that the pure blue colour is harder to find, but the bluish-green is very easy. Let me know if you need a source, and I'll go dig mine out. I had to replace mine. garret
