Hood Brace

This seems to be a rare option. A customer's 280GE has one and it was handy to have while working under the hood. Anyone else have one?

Re: Hood Brace

Are these parts still available, Sean? When I bought the truck my hood had the two slight dents from hitting the windshield seal. It would be great to hold it vertical without resting it against the windscreen. I rarely use the hood support rod because it doesn't lift it out of the way enough. And its already dented.

Does nt really look too difficult to fabricate If it isnt obtainable, its one of those things that could be as cheap as chips or an arm and a leg:bleh:

Re: Hood Brace

My G has one, exactly like in your pic. Agree it is HUGELY handy, I use it all the time (the normal stand is too short and reting the hood against the windshield is far from ideal too).

What do you want to know about it? I agree with greeney, it is a very simple part and should not be hard to make something just as effective yourself.

Cheers,

Bart

Re: Hood Brace

Thanks foe the pics of the brace. I have some materials in my garage to make something like that. Fortunately when I open my hood (I don't use the hood support rod much either), I gently allow the hood to rest against my windshield.
