Off Topic - Car Cover Advice Needed

I don't like them, but my son has left his new Honda Civic with us for a year or more while he's stationed in Korea; and my wife is driving me nuts to get something to cover and protect the car from the weather, tree sap, bird crap, etc, etc.

Anyone have any recommendations on a good brand? TIA for helping me to bring peace to this house.

RE: Off Topic - Car Cover Advice Needed

I've had really good results with these people.

http://www.carcoversdirect.com/

I pays to give them a call. We have three MB's that we keep covered with Cover Craft covers. (My daughter has a C32 that's not in my profile) We didn't make the best choice intially and they all UV degraded (California). The company replaced them for us under warrenty. When I spoke with the lady at Car Covers Direct she suggested a different cover for California. It's holding up well. I'd call and check with them to find out which one works best for the conditions in your area.

We got the custom fit covers. They stay on the car really well and we have not had to tie them down.

Dutch, Using a normal cloth/plastic type car cover for an extended period of time will affect the paintwork, leaving marks and stains due from the humidity and heat under the cover and having the cover in direct contact with the painted surface.

Have a look at this:
http://sinocanopy.manufacturer.globalsources.com/si/6008809674487/P...

Naturally you can use the "carport" for many other uses and it folds away, it is strong, can withstand wind and even in hail condition will protect the car while the cloth/plastic type wont.

You can even use the cover as a "Gazibo" around the pool?

have a good one! amzimmy

Norm Keiser uses something like what Amzimmy described. I see it in all his inventory pics. You might want to contact Norm.

Re: Off Topic - Car Cover Advice Needed

I have covered a C36 for a year with a covercraft cover. I would only use one of these if it were in a garage as I was told that the humidity under the cover will eventually cause deep paint marks. The cover was perfectly made and the phone service was very helpful as they asked about condtions, location and need for protection from the outside elements.

It's outside parked under a bunch of Georgia toothpicks; and a permanent structure is out of the question. It's a car cover or nothing at all. He was too cheap to pay $50 for indoor storage.

Thanks. Prices are FOB China port. I think I can probably get something locally made a whole lot cheaper.
