I know that they have new ones as well as (as of about a month ago) my old one. They are a great bunch to work with and I highly recommend them. I don't know your budget but the new ones are very nice and my old one is realistically in very good shape assuming you want to mount a 5 foot long jackall to the outside to fill in the couple of holes I left behind, my old one also has two double jerry can holders if ya need em (with four more small holes in the top to secure them).

I don't know where you are located, cough, profile, cough. but Tim is in Edmonton and Steve is in the UK.

Sorry it is kindof hard to tell, no the rack is different. The awning on the new rack obscures the rail, and to accomodate the tent the rail is completely absent on the other side.

The differences between the old style and the new style are:

1.  The rails on the old style are three welded pieces (two sides and the back) which bolt to the rack.
   - On the new style the rails and the stand-offs that hold the rails up are in separate and held together with lots of little bolts.
2.  The rails on the new style rack are not as tall as on the older rack.
3.  The rear corners on the new style rack are rounded like the front corners rather than squared off like on the older rack.
4.  The rack bed on both racks have a small channel but only on the new rack is there a widened spot where a bolt can be slipped into it.
   - This channel is really thin and the rack is aluminum so don't expect too much from it.
5. There are some other subtle differences as well that I don't think are very important and you would never notice if they weren't side by side.
   

Over all I think the old style was a bit more rugged and perhaps a bit better ergonomically and the new rack is a bit more versatile if you are cutting the rails and such. Ya roll the bones and take yer chances.

 The rack is specifically designed for the 463 but I don't think there are really any differences in the roof between the vehicles (assuming you don't have the safari top), certainly it fits my 460 fine.

There is a price list on the hannibal.ca site I mentioned, a lwb rack without any of the extras will set you back around $1,500CAD plus taxes and shipping.

Yup, this is the older style and pretty much identical to my old one.  On the older ones the removable sides were optional as well as the knockout for the camp table and powdercoating.

The sides are removable on all the new racks (lots of little bolts) and I think the other bits are still optional.

The hannibal camp table by all accounts is awful although the cutout might well serve if you were to construct your own (or have one made). 

I think powdercoating is a very good idea if for no other reason than to keep you hands clean.

 No idea, I'm afraid.  So this information may well be only 10% effective in North America.  I do know that they have the ability to do stuff in the UK as well (I don't know any details so Steve may just have a good working relationship with the UK distributer if there is one) so that may be of help to some more people.

My old g-wagen rack probably wouldn't count to any distributer agreements as it is a few years old now and last I saw holding the garage down.

Or perhaps it is just a good excuse to have a nice vacation through the rockies, it isn't often that being Canadian helps when trying to buy stuff.

I just received an e-mail from the horse's mouth.  They are in fact allowed to sell to the US now (this may well have been direct fallout from your situation by the sounds of it) although they try to avoid any rover related products since that is the market that the american distributer is interested in serving.

Yes the rubber stuff is a pain.  On my truck, the front driver's side area never sucked completely down, with the new rack I levered out the gutter a bit in that area which seemed to do the trick.  I checked the gutters fairly carefully when I put on the new rack and I didn't notice any signs of rust  (making it about the only rust free part of the truck).  There is certainly a lot of water that is held around that area though, mind you where I live it is being rained on four+ months of the year so the every thing else pales in comparison.

Your width problems are interesting as both of mine were basically adjusted to about thier widest setting and dropped in with no real issues, although another quarter inch wider would have been even better.  I wonder if this is a subtle 460->463 difference or if it is just something that evolved in the rack design over time.
