Re: Why...?

It is remarkable that they import any G class vehicles at all. To import a SWB or Cabrio may require individual crash testing and they might have to stock actual parts for these vehicles as well. And service information! And people might purchase them. They are very nimble, well balanced, usefull vehicles. I really like mine. Why don't they import them?

Re: Why...?

Dai is correct about the reasons why the SWB or cabrio are not sold here. In addition, MBUSA conducted a survey shortly after their initial marketing of the G under MBUSA in 2002. The results showed that a majority of owners preferred the 5-door LWB.

Re: Why...?

Didn't a majority of Americans prefer the Oldsmobile Cutlass for years? Does any one think that the Jeep Wrangler/Rubicon being in the same family represent an impediment?

Re: Why...?

Yeah, I know! I was thinking the same thing earlier after my post. Duh, we have so may 2-door Jeeps. I guess when it comes to Mercedes-Benz, it is eather a huge 4-door vehicle or a 2-door sports car.
