off road practice day

Me and my mates decided that a off road training / practice session was in order before our next trip to Wales working on the practice make perfect theory.
So off we went to Coney green a off road pay and play site to practice hill climes , decent's , side slopes ( I hate um ) vehicle recovery & failed hill climes all were the order of the day.
a fantastic day was had by all followed by a trip to the local pub for beer the end to a perfect weekend .

RE: off road practice day

Twodogs, is the LR pulling the G back? ........ it appears to be fairly flat ground to get a LR stuck......or....did he snap a side-shaft?

Re: off road practice day

those are stock sized wheels. more power i supposed, and more contact pressure... not that the g has any need for that! Those rims are also so thick with steel you could drive cross country on bare metal without damage.

RE: off road practice day

I run steel rims and 7/50 16 Michelin XCLs as the G can cope with that size and there is less wear on the wheel bearings indeed its a factory fitted size, also steel rims are strong and available for my type of offroading its ideal .

RE: off road practice day

Twodogs,

I agree, the stock wheels and tires are the best way to go with regard to performance of the diesel, and the whole suspension and wheel bearing/shocks set up seems best suited to the standand tires.

I also like the look of an older G with stock wheels and tires.

Good show!!
