230G - 8/9/2006 7:18 AM .....converting my old G with a carb is not much more then going with bigger jets..... Biggest issue with high ethanol content is compatibility with rubber components in the fuel system. In the early 80's some manufacturers had problems handling even the 5-10% added to help smog in winter in urban areas. I'd be careful about putting E85 in an older G for those reasons. You can replace things like rubber fuel lines, but the stuff that gets to be trouble is internal stuff like rubber diaphragms, O-rings, accelerator pumps, etc. Not saying it can't be done, just be aware. And let us know how you make out! -Dave G. |
