What position is 4x4 shifter to drive in rwd high?

Plus, what are the two stubby knobs for? Lock the diffs?

S = Strasse (Rear Wheel Drive high range)
SA = Strasse Allrad (4x4 high range)
GA = Gelande Allrad (4x4 low range)

Rear little knob is rear diff lock.
Front little knob is front diff lock.
Red lights should come on in the dash when they engage. NEVER engage them on-road.

Engaging transfer case and diff locks

A scan of the manual page dealing with diff lock and transfer case engagement on the 460 is partway down this thread in a post from me:

http://www.benzworld.org/forums/g-class/1222863-translation-please-if-possible.html?highlight=diif+lock

Lots of good tips and manuals available here:

http://www.4x4abc.com/G-Class/?47,25

Good luck, and enjoy the G.  Please fill out your profile so we know a little about how to answer within the context of where you are and what kind of G you own.

All the best,

-Dave G.

Re: What position is 4x4 shifter to drive in rwd high?

Asianbond,

Do you have any pics of your G? In all my visits to Hong Kong (Kowloon, HK Island, New Territories, etc.), I have never seen a G from Hong Kong. Do you know how many Gs are in Hong Kong and Macau? Please post any pics you might have. That would be great.

BTW, I stay with my grandparents in Telford Gardens right across from the shopping center, MTR station, and MTR headquarters. I apologize; I didn't mean to diverge from the subject.

Thanks.
