| Difflock, Fitting Thingy
Hi Guys, Fairly new on the forum. Learnt a lot so far from you guys and up to now I've always found answers by searching old postings.
I've had my "88" 280GE for a few months now and I absolutely love it. Went down to my Local MB dealer today looking for the three pronged fitting thingy that connects the Difflock Reservoir tube to the two difflock master cylinders. MB guys cannot find anything on their EPC and it only shows one master cylinder and my truck has two.
There is no number on the fitting itself.
Would appreciate any help on obtaining the part No.

Affectionately called the "F" pipe....or sometimes I guess the "Effin'" pipe if it cracks at the wrong time draining away all your diff lock fluid. They have a rough life down there in all the heat underneath. I've thought about going to a metal elbow on each master cylinder and running separate lines up to a "Y" under the hood just outside the reservoir. At least that way if it was starting to leak it would be in a place that's easier to inspect. If nobody pipes up I'll look it up when I get home. Not a bad idea to keep a spare around of this one. -Dave G. |

Hi Sandgogga, The part you are looking for is A460 997 01 69 (I am pretty sure but this is just from my list of parts purchased rather than the EPC). I hope that this helps. John |

One of these days I will try to figure out how to post an image from the EPC as I do not know how.

What section of the EPC? I went looking and couldn't find it in the one that has all the rest of the diff lock master cylinder parts. |

Yea... I'm still learning to use EPC. It can be very hard to find things if you are not used to it. |

Dutch, I clicked on the axle section, than you have to right click in the screen anywhere to bring you back to a sub-menu which lists differential lock and other items that pertain to the original item you clicked, than click that and there you are. It seems I have to do that process 50 percent of the time to get what I am looking for but in addition always seem to find something interesting. I am at work now so I am going by memory. It also looks like Sean kicked in with the graphics. Thanks Sean.
