rudeney Date registered: Dec 1899 Location: Vehicle(s): | If you could... …change anything about your ML, what would it be? I don’t really mean cosmetic mods, but something that you’d like it to have that it doesn’t and would be too expensive or difficult to add. In my case, I’d like to have Keyless Go, about six extra linear inches of cargo/cabin space, steering wheel controls and an updated TC like the W164, and a power liftgate.

BTW there was someone who was able to add steering wheel controls by taking a steering wheel from another Mercedes and found the wiring was already present on post 2002 models, I looked for the information on it but was unable to find it again.

Marcelc Date registered: Dec 1899 Location: Vehicle(s): | Re: If you could... Noodles - 4/28/2006 9:08 PMThe manual gearbox is something I wish the US market was able to get. Well, if it makes you feel better, the manual gearbox was only sold with the ML320 and the ML270 because it could not handle the torque of the bigger engines; and, furthermore, the ML270 had to be detuned from a max. 400Nm torque to 370 or 380Nm as the manual gearbox could not take 400Nm. Mind you, if you ask Pleubner and Noodles, they might say the automatic gearboxes could not cope with the torque either! The second hand value of an ML with a manual gearbox in the UK is practically nil.

Back then if a driver took their road test in a vehicle with an auto trans they were the only allowed to drive auto trans vehicles. Is it still the same rules these days.

Yes, and automatic clutch with manual gearbox systems, like on the A160, count as automatics.

Please clarify, as to make the ac more powerful, they should put in a better condensor, charge it with a better gas, or put in a high HP compressor. Dual compressors would do nothing, unless you wanted a cascade, which would cost you anywhere from two to three times as much. They could also put in an auto casecade, but yeah, my ac unit works fine. Edited by sin0822 4/29/2006 1:28 PM
