1. Are the 460 front and rear wiper motor the same?

2. Are the 460 wiper motors similare to W123, or other passenger vehicles?

Thanks in advance!

RE: wiper motors

You can use a wiper motor from another vehicle for the front wipers. I have used one from an 1980's opel kadette before with some changes to the wiring ( uses different plug)

Hi, To say No is a bit extream. There are a lot of wiper motors out there, to think MB is the only one you can use is a bit jumping the gun.

I would take the G with to the junk yard and have a look around to compair. If you have the part in hand, thats even better.

Remember the items you buy at the junk yard, my or may not have the longest live left in them.

If they look like they plug and play you could always head to the (example GM) dealer and see how much a new one would cost.

Keep us posted on your findings, good quality, lower priced replacement parts are always a good find.

Answer "No " based on questions
1 No , Front and rear wiper motors are NOT interchangeable.
2. No, Wiper motors from MB earlier sedans as W123, W114, W115 and W126 will NOT fit G-Class.
If you do not want to spend 130.00 Euros for the motor from Mercedes dealer you can buy original replacement motor from any European BOSCH dealer Part # 0 390 246 137
The same BOSCH dealer can provide you various parts to rebuild your wiper motor: brushes, brush holders , bearings and etc and etc.
Another option is to buy remanufactured Delco Remy product , part number DWM246137
You can make any electric wiper motor from any car works with G-Class wiper system - just need time and mechanical skills, but why?

RE: wiper motors

Thanks for the answers!

Fourbufourclub,
Why would they make different motors on that many 12 Volts vehicles? They're all Bosch
What about the Sprinter, MB309, etc., any small van or pick-up truck, W123, W114,
W115 or W126, or the two GW motors, if you strip away all the mechanics cables
and are left the MOTOR only, are you sure there aren't any interchangeable motors?

Re: wiper motors

the wipers og my 460 stop working. I do not know how, but the wipers were hitting the gas pedal, then they went from the full swipe to half, later burned the fuse and died.

Where should I start the disassemble? A 460 diagram would help. Or any steps I should follow.
Thanks in advance
