Peter, I bought a Sealey model TP69 in the UK for about 110Euros, if you search Google for Sealey TP69 you will find loads of places in the UK selling them for which shipping and taxes? will be at least cheaper than from the USA.

It works well and holds enough to empty all the oil except the last half litre or so, so I let the oil go down to about the half-way mark on the dipstick and it will drain the lot, the book says it holds 6.5 litres.

The place to look for this kind of thing is a boat yard as there is no other way of draining oil from a motor in the bilges of a boat!

ttaleric, did this one hold all of the oil or did you have to empty part of it out?

Re: Ahhh, Oil change

JohnL since the ML holds 8.5quarts no. I had to empty a little bit of it out. And since this was the first oil change I did to the ML, it was about 9quarts of oil.

Really?  I have the 7201 model (see here:  http://www.thetoolwarehouse.net/shop/MIT-7201.html).  It easily holds all the oil from the ML’s crankcase (8.8 liters = 9.29 quarts).  I have no problem emptying it, either.  I just take the whole thing to the local Advance Auto Parts and pop the plug, then dump it in their vat.  I’ve even used it to change brake fluid and siphon gasoline (yeah, it has a big warning about not using it for flammable fluids, but I was outside and careful).

Re: Ahhh, Oil change

rudeney, yeah i poped the plug and dumped it out. I tried to do the whole pushing the oil out of the tube feature, that wasnt to good, too slow. And if you open the top too fast, the back pressure will blow the rubber bushing off!!

I have the same model, this was my first oil change on the ML, so there is no telling what those idiots did. I had the Oil high light come on a couple of times, so i was expecting there to be quite a bit of oil in the truck. I am guessing in the rage of 9.5quarts... I filled up the MityVac had to take some out, then almost filled it back up!!

I know for sure that my next change will not be like that.
