| Is the ML chassis stamped with the chassis number?
Can someone tell me if the actual ladder rail chassis on my ML (2002) is stamped with the chassis number....i am aware that the number is visible near to the base of the windscreen and also on the door pillar but as the body is removable i assume it is also somewhere on the chassis......anyone know where?

I believe it is federal law that the vin# is on the frame. I just don't know where. A dealer will know for sure. |

Thanks for the reply Noodles......i have since discovered that the vin is located on the chassis rail approx under the passenger front door area. (it is easily seen/read just by kneeling down and looking under).

and a variety of parts have the VIN as well, all in an effort to make life difficult for chop shops. |
