I need to know if this will be solved when I replace my actuator this weekend or if it is unassociated? I've been getting the usual machine gun locks, so rather than pay someone a grip of cash, I'm just going to replace the actuator myself. Thanks for any tips. Adoni

Who knows? Maybe it'll fix it but my rear actuator didn't exhibit these symptoms. As for the rattle, I'd check and see if you have all clips on the panel. If so, when you remove the panel to fix your rear lock, place some felt strips around where some wires or cables may be. You can buy adhesive felt that can be stuck on.

Regardless of which door it is, my rear door rattles, and I've noticed that i can push my weight on the door when it is closed and get some play. I've checked the gasket, checked the alignment....I'm perplexed.

I hadn't thought about the stoppers. I took them all the way out and then screwed each back in identically and then tested the door until it was snug. No more rattle, I'm so relieved.

It will rattle up and down making you think it's the tailgate. Check and see if you have play on the sides, up and down, with a large gap between the quarter panel and bumper. If so, this is a good likelyhood where your problem is. You can physically duplicate the noise by popping it up and down by hand, if that's what it is. I'm putting mine in the garage this weekend and tightening my bumper up because of noise. I had to do the ML430 when I put my hitch on. All you do is bend the clips up to make it rest tighter against the upper quarter.
