RE: Surge Performance Chip

I have bought them directly from Surge Performance thru ebay, and they costs a couple of USD each.
They are not chips (as in a piece of computer chip) but just a tiny piece of resistor. I have not tried them as yet.

Re: Surge Performance Chip

on the 2.6 liter motor on the 124's and 201's there is a resistor that somehow controls ignition timing......replacing/removing it makes the timing different, gaining HP, it may be something similar......

Re: Surge Performance Chip

i could be wrong, but...

i THINK its just a resistor that you effectively put in parallel with the Intake Air Temp sensor to 'fool' your ecu into thinking the intake air temp is colder than it really is to run a little richer/more gas. the o2 sensors output probably offsets a significantly richer mixture, making the 'mod' of limited merit, since they are not wideband (yet)

seems like somebody ought to be able to hook up wideband o2 sensors that are modulated by manifold vacuum (MAP), and get better economy with a light foot, and better performance at WFO, but............hey i'm not smart enough....i have seen some pretty cool stuff about wideband o2 sensors.

and of course, we dont want to trash the expensive cats either.

Re: Surge Performance Chip

I tried one of these on 06 Mustang GT-DON'T buy it
texasdanml430 right-its just a resistor that you put in parallel with the MAF sensor to 'fool' your ECU.I sent it back after 2 days. Then I bought Diablo Sport Predator Tuner-cost more, but you can feel result and no Check engine light.
