My ML320 has a broken fold down rear seat- again! The last time the cable popped off and I was able to put it back on. Now the seat handle on the upper side feels like it's not pulling the other cable for the second stage fold down. Anyone know what it is? I'm afraid I'll have to remove the seat to find the problem.

I'm going to have to remove the seat and find out why it won't let down. Something popped when I pulled the handle. I imagine another cable came off but don't know, yet. I'll try to post pics when I remove it and find out what happened.

It usually happens if there's a shoe or some other object left under the seat when it's folded all the way down - it breaks the cable attachment. If there's a breakage, you might need to order replacement parts off the EPC. Always ensure there's nothing under the seats before folding them to prevent this in the future.

I was able to put that cable back on. The one that's broken is the upper side handle that folds the second stage. A real bummer. Edited by cmitch 5/23/2007 9:26 AM
