If anyone else knows what it is, tell us. I'm reading no codes from OBD.

tclynes Date registered: Dec 1899 Location: Vehicle(s): | Re: ml320 hestitating where do you purchase your fuel from? even with there trouble lately, supermarket fuel in my experience can have a bad effect on engines, its to do with the extras they dont have in the fuel. if your using supermarket fuel, try a tank or two of the good premium stuff to see if it clears the engine, and the lambda sensors may need a good clean too. The ML430 runs flawlessly and it has 173,000 miles on original wires and plugs. Now, the ML320 came from Houston where there is a lot of dust on everything, so I would say it's possible my fuel filter may be due on the 320.

This might be due to the fuel filter/pump not delivering enough fuel. I would appreciate someone posting info on how to check fuel delivery, thanks in advance.

It's very common issue with MLs. Your fuel pump fails when hot and heavy load. This is very hard to detect and leaves nothing on computer. What you experienced is "limp home mode". You'll loose half of the power but your car is still drivable. To detect this, you need to drive in hot weather and warm up fuel filter. Then, hook up volt meter to fuel pump. Then again, you need to drive very hard, wide open! If suddenly voltage drops, you have a bad pump. Yasu
