RE: Welcome!

A very good intiative! Thanks for leading me on the right track

I have actually been wondering the last days "Are all the other guys so clumsy that they don't figure out how the new BenzWorld works, noone seems to be around"! Good to see you all here!

RE: Welcome!

Hi All,

I was new to the other forum and I'm new to this one.  Great to see it forming up.  The exchange of ideas is pretty amazing.

Greetings all. Spalding here. Just checking in. Glad to see most of the usual suspects have already arrived.

Nice work, Dutch and Jim. Sometime I hope to hear what must be the very interesting tale of the genesis of this board.

Re: Welcome!

Hi Captain S.,

The thing that troubles me most is that we may have lost that huge volume of data and knowledge - forum messages - that have been building for the past several years. I suspect the ClubGwagen is still there with its great Dave and Mike items, and the knowledge base for the G is building here. But, really, it just shows us all how fragile our link to one another can be. Thank you Jim and Dutch, for the safety net. My old G thanks you as well. Let see, is EuroTruck here?

Re: Welcome!

We might have lost that huge volume of data and knowledge, but starting anew gives all of us the chance to revisit any G-related problems as they arise, diagnose the problem and propose a solution.

With DUTCH and Brent as forum hosts as well as the swarm of regulars, pointedthree almost has the same feel of BenzWorld (the colors take a bit getting used to). It's amazing how people can come together when they share a common and great interest in offroading and their Mercedes G.

Thanks again DUTCH and Jim.

Re: Welcome!

Well, it would take a lot of work, but it might be good to figure out a way to make a library of the old forum content that where applicable (meaning grabbing the good tech stuff, input from the community on that is worth saving!)

seems like it would be exhaustive work, but perhaps some bright tech mind on this forum might have some ideas?

Maybe we can choose 30-40 topics and grab the info from them and post here or on clubgwagen.com. Another would be adding to the Gtech index on clubgwagen.com some way that you can search the old threads relative to GTech articles.
