Rear seat Hinges Rattle.....

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm getting a rattling noise that seems to be coming from the rear seat hinges that folds the seat. Is there a way how I can check to make sure everything is tightened up....
Thanks

RE: Rear seat Hinges Rattle.....

I assume you have a pre-2002 model. This is a common issue with no real solution. My ML430 will drive you crazy on bumpy roads. If someone is riding in the back, then it's quiet.

Would it help to tie down the back of the rear seats from the neck restraints to the luggage strapping points in the rear cargo area?

That might lessen the rattling (I know it's a bodge, but if it works ...).

Somewhat. Now the 2002 up have an annoying rattle in the lift gate.

It seems that the rubber stops, which stop the cargo door rattling, need adjusting from time to time.

I just drive with the tail gate open. Problem solved.

This will probably work I beleive...but then again I regularly fold down my seat to carry my bike...

Probably a long elastic type rubber may be a solution.

Bungee cord will work.
