phoenix44 Date registered: Dec 1899 Location: Vehicle(s): | CEL when fuel tank is below 1/4.. It's really strange, my cel goes on if I let my tank drop below 1/4. The only thing that I can think of it that the "vacum prroving" sensor is thinking that I did not close my filler cap properly. A ssoon as I fill the tank or even just bring it up to 1/2, the cel goes out. Any other ideas?

Read the codes at a local auto parts store and see if your getting P0400 or P0401, 402, 403, 404, 405, 406 ,407 408 etc. That's usually indicative of an EVAP leak. You couls also have a bad fuel cap. It's really hard to tell without the codes.

I did not have a chance to get the codes checked yet, but what you are saying makes sense to me, along with my initial suspicion. .....and er, my spelling sucked on my previous post, but it was done in a hurrrrry.
