Hi all!
I just noticed that my MPG is low, i am getting 15.4-15.8 MPG its 50% city+50% highway, no doubts its low for ML320.No power loss or Check Engine light.
Here is what I have-New MAF about 6 month ago, new air filter......what else to check???
Any advice is very appreciated.........

How old are your spark plugs? I noticed a very significant increase in mpg with new +4s and a k&N.
Also the O2 sensors may not be triggering a code, but they are a "maintenance" item. How many miles do you have on your ml? |

I would definitely change the plugs!! The dealer might be able to check the O2 sensors. You can also check with Bosch, they should be able to tell you the life expectancy. |

yeah i was getting 14.8. changed the sparkplugs to platinum +2s getting 15.5 now so that definately helped i think. maybe i did something else too.
just to confirm the measurements of the boardcomputer i ran empty filled up with 10 gal of premium and got about 150 miles so that seems to be ok too.still very low. i used to get 16 to 17 if not 18 with a passive driving style.
what cought my attention however was that there seems to be a lot friction somewhere braking the car. (not air resistance duh 
Can someone do me a favour drive 50MPH and see how many seconds it takes him to slow down to 40 or whatever speed. just so i can compare my values. (WHAT I MEANT WAS NO BRAKING just let go the throttle and see how long it takes till the speedometer reaches 40 when u let it go at 50)

~4 sec from 50 MPH down to 40 MPH

im thinking my engine is just running rich.....new spark plugs, air filter is good, power is good....
anyways i can can it to run less rich?? |

I would put some fuel cleaning additive in for at least one tankful, this cleans areas of the fuel system other methods cannot reach, EGR for example.
If I found that helped I would use it often, for example every 2nd or 3rd tankful.
