RE: ML Interior

I'm not sure which part you're talking about but try Duval motor cars. They sell OEM parts at pretty good prices.

That's called the Red Bull "A pillar" interior trim.

It is attached by clips and you'll have to unsnap it. You'd better buy some clips from the dealer because you will break most if not all of them removing it. That pillar can be repaired from the looks of it. I'd take it to a headliner shop or upholstery shop to see what your options are.

I agree, that looks repairable to me, I pulled mine off carefully and didn't brake any of the clips, just ease it off and DONT force anything, and it will pop off ok.

To repair, I recommend applying some contact glue to the back plate and waiting for it to get tacky before pulling the material back over it. BE CAREFULL to keep your hands clean as the surface does mark easily!!

Good luck!!

I got them off !!! there was just 2 clips holding them.
Now I need to fix right side, but the left side I need to change (new material).
Any ideas what kind of glue I can use?

tarydesign suggested contact adhesive. I'd say that would be a good choice. There is an adhesive by 3M called super 77 that's available in most hardware stores for about $11 to $12 a can. Be careful to spray it only where you need it.

Use the Contact glue in a tin (usually pale yellow in colour) and brush it on with a paint brush, wait for it to get tacky (Not wet) to touch and pull (stretch) the cloth over and allow it to stick. KEEP YOUR HANDS CLEAN!! the panels mark very easily Good Luck!!

PS: If you need to change one side material, why not change both sides to a fabric of your choice- that way they will match!!

It's a good idea to change both sides!
I've got the adhesive 3M, but I don't know where I can get a fabric. Any ideas guys?
I looked in the local wallmarts store, fabric department, but there wasn't even something close to that I need.
Please help.

RE: ML Interior

check your local upholstery shop, I found myself looking at the same problem and had it reupholstered for $30,-

I would give the end result a 8.5 out of ten as it was hard to exact match the original fabric, buy new a-pillar covers for around $80,- ea. is another option if you want 10 out of 10 results.
now if you want "12" out of 10 results that google Alcantara, buy enough to cover headliner and have a Maybach result ( my prefered way to go )
You are lucky as there is a big distributor for Alcantara fabric in Florida.

my two cents, best regards,

Herman

RE: ML Interior

Let me say .... A picture is always better than 1 million words .....

position & clip is slightly different for  pre-facelift , and facelift A-Pillar trim.
