need help identifying wire..

I'm trying to fit a brake light flasher to my 3rd brakelight. The light seems to have 2 wires going to it - one brown and one orange.... anyone know which wire is the positive? thanks..

RE: need help identifying wire..

How about testing each to a ground with a DC voltage tester to find out which one is hot? You'll, of course, need to have brakes applied by someone while doing it.

In German automobiles, brown is ALWAYS ground, like black in American autos.
