thebigblue Date registered: Jan 2012 Location: Vehicle(s): | RE: my roof rack I looked at the picture showing the gutter fittings once more; and I´m a bit confused by the photos without the paint compared to the one with the fittings painted black, - they seem to be nonidentical. Looking at the pictures of the rack on the truck it looks like the fitting used here are those in the non-painted version... Enlighten me please...

Looking at the pictures of the rack on the truck it looks like the fitting used here are those in the non-painted version... Enlighten me please... Please ignore the first gutter mounts picture (painted black). I can't delete it. that was version 1, I had a very complicated design of how to hold the bottom mounting plates (like most other roof rack, using a retainer bolt to hold) but find it not working well and too complicated. so I sandblasted them and welded another piece "L" angle iron to each plate. it works very well and you don't need to worry about retaining bolts coming loss from time to time. On hwy, these lights will be hidden behind the deflector.

If I can figure out how to do it I will post a photo. There is no way for me to do a PEE platform so a bottle will have to do.
