4x4abc Date registered: Apr 2006 Location: La Paz, Baja California, Mexico Vehicle(s): 02 G500 | Re: Crankshaft Position Sensor - removal tool OK - I replaced the CPS today generic Bosch part, but no Mercedes part number printed on it strangely the diameter was slightly larger and the CPS did not want to slide down the hole measure it, and yes, it is just a few 1,000 thicker sanded it down a bit and it fits perfectly time will tell whether my symptoms are gone or not | ||

I, the lowly Temple-Monkey, hate to disagree with you... But I highly doubt this is a CPS problem.. Every CPS I've had/seen Fail?? It's an All-or-Nothing... THE ENGINE DIES!!! Usually, when the engine is HOT.. You let it cool off?? STARTS UP again. Do you 'Have Codes' ?? Perhaps a Coil Pack is on its Last legs??? Look for a 300 series Fault code... "G" | ||

Sounds like what happened with my Throttle Position Sensor, i.e. the drive by wire part. | ||
