Now I Need Advice!! hipine - 2/16/2010 9:33 AM If you've got a bore scope you can inspect for excessive carbon through the spark plug holes. Maybe others will have some ideas. -Dave G. QUOTE] Hmmm, maybe I'll do that.... Perhaps I'll drive over to my buddy's GI Endoscopy Lab and borrow one of his Colonoscopy Scopes... Of course I will Autoclave the scope it *PRIOR* to inserting into my "VERY VERY DIRTY ENGINE"... Edited by G-AMG 2/16/2010 1:16 PM

G-AMG - 2/15/2010 9:38 PM Well folks... There is nothing like the "experience" from the G-Gurus..... Thanks a zillion Chris505!!!! I took your advice and "drove the crap" out of the truck (dohhh! am I allowed to say 'crap'?)... Cruising along at "near redline" during an unusually "Spirited" drive.. I came back and repeated the Compression Check.. READ' EM AND WEEP!! Attached are the results... So, the Chris505 theory proved correct... Just as quickly as the "Rough Idle" appeared??? Now GONE!!! I am sooooo stoked!! Thanks to all!! I got similar readings on my 85 280ge-- They vary from 11 to 12 bar .. What does the manual say about the allow difference between cylinders?

The original mechanical relay switches fuel pump off in case of an accident when ignition is on and motor not turning to prevent fuel fueling a potential accident scene

Now I Need Advice!! YIKES!! Peter, thank you very much for pointing out this "Minor Detail"... I just ran out to the parking lot and checked: NO!! With the Ignition on 2, and motor OFF, the pump just keeps going... I guess I never noticed that before, since I typically get in, hear the pump running, then start the engine. Soooo, I guess, now, I either need to: A- Change out to the Stock Configuration, or B- Never get in an accident!! ;-) ha ha.. Thank you for alerting me to this potential "safety" issue.
