I like the natural finish. They were welded to Bottom sliders I bought from g wagon accessories.

Did you close off the ends of the pipe (can't tell from the photos). Did you treat/coat the inside of the pipe as well to prevent rust? Mark

The tubing came slick with oil inside and out, from industrial metal supply. ...and nothing rusts in AZ. I'm tempted to connect bottom slider and nerf bar with some perforated steel grate. I think that would look cool. Weight for no reason though, probably make a lot of noise on the highway. Edited by drey 11/26/2012 8:49 AM

The body can move up and down quite a bit with off-road impacts. How much gap did you leave between the body and the tube?

Anyone notice my home made front mud flaps? :D I just welded a mount to Karl's slider and got some rubber sheet from industrial metal supply cut to size. Edited by drey 12/2/2012 7:56 AM

What is the gas can spout looking tube behind the slider?

In this case it´s a Webasto Airtop 2000 fixed inside the truck to heat the cabin,- also a Webasto fitted in the engine bay to preheat the engine coolant (very commonly used in Diesel trucks, my G400 CDi have one, also my VW Touareg TDI). http://www.webasto.com/home/en/html/homepage.html Another view of the slider: Edited by thebigblue 12/4/2012 4:47 AM
