G-AMG G-Class DIY Host Date registered: May 2006 Location: South Texas Vehicle(s): '04 G55, '80 280GE, '99 S420, '98 E320, 2011 E350 | Photo DIY- Timing Adjustment for M110.994 Engine Well, it is that time, again, (12,000 Mile Check), and so I did the Valve Adjustment, Spark Plug Change, Compression Check, and Now, the Next Step in the Process is the "Ignition Timing". Looking through the DIY Forum, I notice this procedure is not included, so I will "Vet" the post here. Please use extreme care, as the Engine is HOT for this step.... and be VERY VERY careful around any Electrical Components. I'm very Skidish around electricity, so I do the "Distributor Manipulation" with the engine OFF, making very small adjustments. Remember to "Rev" the engine several times in between each adjustment.
