U1200 restoration project

Started tearing apart a U1200 last weekend... it's a shame that a 11K mile, 1700 hour truck was left to fall into such disrepair. I'll post more photos as the project progresses.

Cheers,
Ben

Ben,

I can't see much in the photos (too dark), but it looks as though you'll need to stock up on elbow grease.

I'm looking forward to the rollout day.

RE: U1200 restoration project

Sean,

Oh yes, I've got a whole crate of elbow grease on order . There is a lot to be done... and no time to do it, especially since I was just shipped two other mogs to revive for a customer. I'll take some better pictures once I start tearing into it. Looks like I'm going to need a few parts .

Cheers,
Ben

Re: U1200 restoration project

They're just hitting that age aren't they? A very similar, sad looking, U1600 went through on UK ebay a while ago, don't know what it fetched, or even if it finished. I've done a frame up strip/resto on a 404, but an SBU is different kettle of fish.

good luck!

Good luck with the 1200 Mate, I may have to get a case of the elbow grease you ordered for my 1700..better make that 2 cases

Its sad to see these trucks fal into disrepair like that, but at the same time its a good feeling to rescue them and put some new life into them.
